About the artist
Susannah Law is from Red Beach on the Hibiscus Coast. She has been painting since her childhood and has won awards in visual arts since the age of 8.
Specialising in portraiture, fantasy subjects and paintings of native birds, she has been creating works for commissions since 1998.
Currently many representational features in her works are formed from abstracted marbling and due to the nature of her technique each piece is a complete one-off original.Sue has created a unique style that is completely created from her own designs and formulas. The process is as important as the outcome for achieving her desired results.
Since graduating from Hungry Creek Art and Craft School in 2005 in Puhoi, Sue has had success with numerous exhibitions around Auckland, N.Z. and continues to sell her work to local collectors and internationally.
Currently her work can be found in ‘The Weka Gallery' at Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa,Orewa framing studio, Whakatane Arts Whakatane,The Art place Kerikeri.
Sue set up and ran Reddoorstudios an artists cooperative and gallery space in Orewa from 2010-2018.
Commissioned portrait pieces also hang on a European style home in Fennell Cresent, Millwater, Sidwell rd,Wainui and Kerikeri. More of her work can be viewed at the Silverdale Hall mural,various Hobbit themed murals in Wainui, Orewa Library mural,and the Orewa Beach mural in Moana village,Orewa.
Sue has her studio space at home in Red Beach.
