About the artist
Susannah Law is from Red Beach on the Hibiscus Coast. She has been painting since her childhood and has won awards in visual arts since the age of 8.
Specialising in portraiture, murals and paintings of native birds, she has been creating works for commissions since 1998.
Currently many representational features in her works blend into abstracted marbling and due to the nature of her technique each piece is a complete one-off original.Sue has created a unique style that is completely created from her own designs and formulas. The process is as important as the outcome for achieving her desired results.
Since graduating from Hungry Creek Art and Craft School in 2005 in Puhoi, Sue has had success with numerous exhibitions around Auckland, N.Z. and continues to sell her work internationally.
Currently her work can be found in ‘Gallery Q’ in Kumeu, ‘The Weka Gallery' at Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa and 'Orewa Art Club Gallery' at Emis cafe, in Tamariki Ave Orewa.
Commissioned portrait pieces also hang at Boulevard of Dreams in Orewa Boulevard.More of her portraits can be viewed in Orewa at the library and Silverdale Hall, Silverdale.
Also it is now possible to purchase directly from the artist at her studio
Red Door Studios Art and Design in Orewa.
Sue has set up this new studio space, alongside several other artists.
Visiting hours are Monday to Friday 10-5 and Saturday mornings by appointment only.
